Binta Aduke Ismail brings over three decades of experience in public health, serving as an RI Specialist and Independent Consultant for Gavi. In her current role, she leads strategic initiatives for immunization programs, vaccine introduction, and health systems strengthening across Nigeria.

Binta holds a bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of Ado-Ekiti, a Master of Public Health from the University of Ilorin, and professional qualifications in nursing and midwifery. Her diverse educational background combines with extensive field experience to create a unique perspective on healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Notably, Binta has served as Program Manager of the National Emergency Routine Immunization Coordination Centre (NERICC), where she coordinated high-level technical responses and managed day-to-day operations. Her leadership in developing interventions for low-performing institutions and aligning Key Performance Indicators with Critical Success Factors has strengthened Nigeria's immunization systems. Her expertise extends to project management, stakeholder coordination, and risk communication, with a focus on strengthening primary healthcare systems through initiatives such as the Nigeria State Health Investment Project and the Midwives Service Scheme.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ismail is committed to improving health outcomes through strategic management, stakeholder engagement, and innovative solutions. As a trustee of 36PlusOne, she contributes her wealth of experience to advancing health systems strengthening and community development initiatives.

Her multilingual proficiency in English, Yoruba, and Hausa enables her to build effective relationships across Nigeria's diverse communities, reflecting her dedication to inclusive healthcare delivery and community engagement. Binta's proven ability to deliver results in both conducive and challenging environments makes her an invaluable asset to Nigeria's public health landscape.
